Weaving 102: Textures w Sarah Neubert

Learn to create lush woven texture!

This is a class for anyone who’s done some weaving on a frame loom and wants to explore textural techniques. You’ll learn rya, pile weave, and soumak stitch to add depth and form to the surface of your woven work. We’ll also talk about the way different fibers create their own woven effects.

Skills needed: beginner to intermediate levels are welcome, as long as you’re able to warp your own loom and do a basic (plain) weave.

What to bring: your own frame loom, pre-warped to six inches wide, and weaving tools.

Materials provided: Yarn and fiber. You’re also welcome to bring any yarn you’re excited to work with!

I’m Sarah (they/she), a fiber artist, parent, partner, activist, and friend. As a weaver, I am fascinated by the endless possibilities within the world of fiber, and I love to share what I’ve learned.

Each Radish class offers one solidarity ticket at a greatly reduced rate, in order to offer greater financial accessibility. Limit to one solidarity ticket per month- because if someone is able to purchase multiple solidarity tickets per month, they should be consolidating that into one full price ticket.

All workshop purchases are subject to our refund policy: a 50% refund is available until 48 hours before workshop. No refund is available within 48 hours of workshop start time. If a workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified 24 hours before.
