ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A small burn barrel fire turned dangerous on March 25 near East County Rd 52 and North County Rd 3 when gusty winds fanned flames across private property, but rapid action by multiple agencies contained the blaze within 30 minutes — firefighters remained on scene with no injuries or structural damage reported — in Larimer County.  North Forty News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Students painted a colorful mural on the first floor of Clark C while most of the Andrew G. Clark Building was torn down for college renovations—led by student designers and teacher David Pyle. The temporary artwork uses symbols of liberal arts majors to brighten the space before it is rebuilt.  Colorado State University

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting Monday, March 31, Timberline Road in South Fort Collins will be fully closed between Majestic Drive and Carpenter Road to complete an asphalt overlay—drivers are advised to follow detours via South Lemay Avenue until the expected reopening on April 4. The project is part of the City of Fort Collins’ Street Maintenance Program aimed at improving local road safety.  North Forty News
  • On March 25, CSU's Political Review Club joined with New Era Colorado and ASCSU to hold the first Seats at the Table roundtable where students engaged with candidates for upcoming ASCSU elections. The candidates, including Brooke Reese running unopposed for Speaker of the Senate, answered questions on campus issues — and campaigns will continue until elections from April 7—9.  Colorado State University

  • CSU confirmed Ali Farokhmanesh as the new head coach for the men’s basketball team yesterday, making him the 21st leader after Niko Medved left. Farokhmanesh said he is excited to build on the championship foundation and guide the team into its move into the Pac-12 — a change supported by players and fans — as he begins his first full head coaching role.  Colorado State University
  • A roundtable discussion at The Collegian reviewed Colorado State men’s basketball season after the team won the Mountain West tournament and reached the NCAA round of 32.
