A parks and rec worker rescued an elk calf entangled in a buoy line at Evergreen Lake — a wedding party watched the rescue unfold.

On Monday just before sunset at Evergreen Lake, a wedding guest + local recreation worker rescued an elk calf trapped in a buoy line. The calf was moved to a safe island, and its mother later reunited with it.

City leaders and community partners will break ground on the new Southeast Community Center on June 10 at 5400 Ziegler Road from 2 to 3:30 p.m.+ The facility will combine recreation, library services, aquatics, and meeting spaces to serve residents of all ages.
