Johnstown mourns Councilmember Damien Berg, a veteran and longtime public servant

Johnstown Town Councilmember Damien Berg died Oct. 30 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. The town announced his death Oct. 31, and its announcement did not include memorial arrangements.
Damien Berg joined the Johnstown council in 2011 and was reelected in 2024

Berg helped establish the Johnstown Veterans Memorial and the Johnstown Honors Program, which recognizes current and former residents who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Town Manager Matt LeCerf said, “The impact Damien had on Johnstown is immeasurable.”
