CRIME NEWS

  • Fort Collins Police arrested a woman with an active warrant and seized 134 grams of cocaine—worth about $13,000—during a routine vehicle search.  North Forty News
  • The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help to locate fugitive Justin Benjamin Brown — who is also known as Justin Spitler or Lil Pearl and is wanted for undisclosed charges — and urges anyone with information to contact law enforcement.  North Forty News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Discovery Air opened a U.S. Customs office (designed for processing international flights) at Northern Colorado Regional Airport to let passengers use local services instead of traveling to Denver International or Broomfield. The office began service after a May test run and hired full-time officer Charles Crosswait in August (which will help monitor flights to Canada, Greenland and other nations).  Loveland Reporter-Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Professional Bull Riders will host its Last Cowboy Standing event—featuring bull riding and country music concerts—on July 21 and 22 at Canvas Stadium on the CSU campus in Fort Collins. The move comes after a split with Cheyenne Frontier Days and will let PBR keep its $100,000 prize money while planning the event with fewer restrictions.  The Coloradoan
