- ➤ Representative Gabe Evans of Colorado is leading a bipartisan effort to close a loophole in Medicare and Medicaid that lets identity theft occur when deceased physicians’ identification numbers are used fraudulently—he introduced a bill on March 28th that would require states to check social security rolls and remove such numbers to protect federal health programs and reduce billions in improper payments. - ➤ Colorado State University formally welcomed Ali Farokhmanesh as the 21st head men's basketball coach Friday morning. He credited his family, friends, players and fellow coaches for helping him succeed, and many recalled his famous shot against the Jayhawks from his playing days. CBS Colorado
- ➤ The University of Colorado extended head coach Deion 'Coach Prime' Sanders’ contract through 2029 — raising his salary to $10 million — making him the highest-paid football coach in the Big 12 and one of the nation's top 10. School officials said Sanders led a turnaround by improving the team record from 1–11 to 9–4 while boosting ticket sales and student applications without using state funds. CBS Colorado
- ➤ CSU softball lost 14-9 to Utah State on March 27 in the first game of a three-day series—Utah State shut out the Rams for three innings before scoring, and coach Jen Fisher said the team must boost confidence and defense. Colorado State University
- ➤ CSU women's tennis lost 4-0 to UNLV on March 28th as players Weekley & Lizarazo led strong singles efforts while a small roster made doubling tough.
