  • On March 28, about 10,000 residents gathered at City Civic Park for the third No Kings rally to voice concerns about federal policies (organizers worked with police to ensure nonviolence) and marched through Old Town with local art and speeches.  Colorado State University

  • The fourth annual International 5K Color Run took place at Colorado State University on March 28, where students, staff and locals celebrated Holi by switching from white shirts to vibrant colors. The event raised funds for international enrollment scholarships.  Colorado State University

  • CSU’s Active Minds chapter is fighting mental health stigma by hosting workshops, training and collaborative events on campus—President Megan Roepke said the group welcomes all students to join for hands-on learning and open conversations.  Colorado State University
  • CSU students discussed how the ongoing conflict abroad is raising gas prices & risking fertilizer shortages that could affect local farms as planting season nears, drawing campus attention to how global events may impact community resources.  Colorado State University
  • Poudre School District is hosting six community sessions in April at its schools in Fort Collins and surrounding communities to review criteria for potential consolidations and closures; recommendations may be presented in October with no changes before the school year 2027 to 2028.  The Coloradoan

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Fort Collins residents are advised to delay turning on lawn sprinklers to avoid freeze damage, as experts note a 50% chance of frost until May 4 and recommend draining backflow preventers (a safer option) until temperatures warm.  The Coloradoan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Drivers in Northern Colorado will face tolling on the I-25 Express Lanes from Highway 56 in Berthoud to Prospect Road in Fort Collins starting April 7—vehicles with one or two occupants must pay while carpools, motorcycles, and transit ride free. Speed cameras in a nearby construction zone will also help improve safety and traffic flow.  North Forty News
