COMMUNITY NEWS

BUSINESS NEWS

  • In Windsor—managing partner Jeff Katofsky said he reached a settlement with the Future Legends sports complex’s largest creditor after repeated funding delays affected bankruptcy claims involving one of the seven owners. The agreement may resolve major financial issues pending in the case.  Loveland Reporter-Herald

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Scott Waterhouse works with Scotts Bee’s Pollinator Project to plant forage for bees along roads and fields—he also moves swarms from unsafe spots like tree holes and old buildings to help them build healthy colonies.  Loveland Reporter-Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Larimer County will start a multi-year project at Carter Lake this year using an $11 million Federal Lands Access Program grant plus $3 million from the Department of Natural Resources — improvements will bring new paving and better stormwater systems at Eagle and North Pines campgrounds. The project will also convert the former Big Thompson campground to a day-use area — work is expected to continue into 2027 while visitors can still use the lake.  Loveland Reporter-Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Colorado State University tennis improved on March 30 at Fort Collins Country Club as the Rams fought hard despite a 4-2 loss to San Diego State. Coach Mai-Ly Tran praised the team’s determination and noted key wins by Sarah Weekley and Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya — signs that their effort may boost future matchups.  Colorado State University
  • Colorado State men’s basketball guard Kyan Evans entered the transfer portal this offseason, marking the first move for the team. Evans averaged 10.6 points and 3.1 assists last season — his future remains uncertain after coach Niko Medved’s departure and assistant Ali Farokhmanesh's promotion.  Colorado State University
