Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 2nd of April.
Good morning, Fort Collins.
Colorado State University opened the exhibit 'Knowing Her: Women's Work & Leadership at CSU, 1925-2025' at the Morgan Library and Visual Arts building on March 26 to honor the stories of women and nonbinary people on campus.
The exhibition—created by Professors Suzanne Faris and Tobi Jacobi and featuring interactive installations like Expected and Effort Distribution—will run in the Directions Gallery until April 18 and in the Morgan Library until Aug. 15 and is free for all to visit.
Two student government campaigns dropped out on March 31 — one linked to a familial medical crisis — leaving Jakye Nunley and Joseph Godshall as the only candidates for ASCSU president and vice president, confirmed by Elections Manager Garett Lopez.
The withdrawals mean the election will proceed with these candidates running unopposed.
Officials announced that the USDA recalled Egg Beaters and Bob Evans liquid egg products produced on March 12 and 13 because they may include a cleaning solution with bleach—212,268 pounds of these products were distributed in several states including Colorado, so consumers and restaurants are advised to discard them.
Colorado State men’s basketball added transfer forward Carey Booth for the 2024-25 season.
His transfer from Illinois came hours after Jaylen Crocker-Johnson entered the portal—boosting the Rams’ frontcourt depth.
After teammates Kyan Evans, Jaden Steppe and Luke Murphy entered the transfer portal on March 29, sophomore Jaylen Crocker-Johnson has also joined as a do not contact candidate, hinting that Colorado State men's basketball will have a largely new roster for the upcoming season.
Ali Farokhmanesh became the head coach for CSU men's basketball on March 28th and credited his family background in sports for shaping his coaching style as the team prepared for its move to the Pac-12.
He plans to build on the program's foundation by retaining trusted staff and supporting players—fostering a close-knit team culture for future success.
