- ➤ On April 7, a fatal motorcycle crash in southeast Fort Collins claimed the life of a local man when his 2023 Yamaha collided with a Hyundai Tucson turning onto Bighorn Drive—prompting police to close South Timberline Road for nearly six hours as the CRASH Team investigated the incident. - ➤ The CSU Swing Dance Society holds biweekly dances at the Lory Student Center that start with a lesson for beginners and lead to social dancing in the evening. - ➤ The City of Fort Collins will hold its first Civic Assembly meeting to discuss the future use of the former Hughes Stadium site. Twenty lottery-selected residents will meet at 222 Laporte Ave in the Colorado River Community Room (first session April 12-13 and second session May 3-4), and residents may watch proceedings (in the public gallery with overflow viewing at City Hall) during the process before recommendations are reviewed by City Council. - ➤ The City of Fort Collins will resurface asphalt on East Harmony Road from McMurry Avenue to College Avenue starting Monday, April 14, and the work is expected to last about five weeks if weather holds—drivers are advised to use alternate routes as lane closures and changing traffic patterns may delay commutes.
