- ➤ Voters chose Maxline Brewing’s Irish Red as Fort Collins’ best beer after a 64-beer bracket contest held on April 8; the Coloradoan (which organized the contest) said the brew won for its taste and look. - ➤ Fort Collins police responded to a serious incident on the 1700 block of North Whitcomb Street and ordered residents and business owners to shelter in place — officials advised others to avoid the area until further updates are provided. North Forty News

- ➤ CSU Mainstreet A Cappella is a dynamic vocal group that performs pop, jazz, R&B and contemporary songs with choreographed movements at CSU events in Fort Collins. - ➤ CSU’s occupational therapy and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine programs are both ranked No. 3 nationally by U.S. News & World Report — the OT program rose four spots from last year — and the DVM program has held its rank for over 20 years while preparing to expand with new facilities in 2026. - ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife has deployed six of 12 range riders hired to deter wolves from livestock (costing $500,000) while the remaining six will join by the end of April (expected to ease conflicts). - ➤ Fort Collins will hold its first Civic Assembly on April 12–13 at the Colorado River Community Room where 20 lottery-selected residents will discuss the future of the former Hughes site—public observation is available in person or online with a follow-up session planned for May 3–4.
