BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Better Business Bureau Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming announced nominees for the 2025 Torch Award for Ethics and other honors, featuring candidates from Fort Collins and surrounding areas. The celebration event will begin registration at 10:30 a.m. and the program at 11 a.m. on April 22 at Embassy Suites Loveland Hotel and Conference Center, with tickets + table sponsorships still available.  Loveland Reporter-Herald

CRIME NEWS

  • A deputy shot suspect Keith Williams during a motorcycle chase into Edora Park on March 10 after Williams shot Deputy Hart, and the district attorney ruled the self-defense action justified—Williams is still hospitalized and may face charges soon.  The Coloradoan

  • Andy Wirth, a CSU alumnus—class of 1986—and former ski industry executive was nominated by Gov. Jared Polis and appointed by the General Assembly on April 7 to fill the Board of Governors seat vacated by Kim Jordan. He will take his oath at the next meeting scheduled May 2-3.  The Coloradoan

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Chatfield State Park won a bracket-style contest with 32 state parks competing—Chatfield beat Golden Gate Canyon in the final round—and Gov. Jared Polis visited the park on April 11 to officially mark the win. Lory State Park near Fort Collins did not advance in the voting.  The Coloradoan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Health District of Northern Larimer County election will be held on May 6 to elect three board members from seven candidates for the special tax district that offers low-cost health services. Eligible voters living in or owning property in the district may vote in person from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated sites or request an absentee ballot by 5 p.m. on April 29—ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on May 6.  The Coloradoan
  • On August 30th, 2024, a Larimer County family reunited over a home-cooked meal after a difficult year that followed troubling sibling behavior, aided by help from the Juvenile Diversion Program. The program—funded by a tax that supports health services—offers youth a chance to get therapy, legal help, and a plan to rebuild trust and safety.  North Forty News
  • Councilmembers Ohlson and Potyondy will host informal listening sessions during Earth Day Fort Collins on April 19 at Civic Center Park—Ohlson from 12 to 2 p.m. and Potyondy from 2 to 4 p.m.—and invite residents to share ideas on local issues.  City of Fort Collins
