  • Snowplow crews began clearing Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park this week, aiming to finish plowing until they meet at the Alpine Visitor Center—officials have not yet set an opening date.  The Coloradoan

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Senate Finance Committee passed a bill that would let the Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise sell bonds and impose a $40M fee on the five largest insurers — a move expected to push up premiums in 2027 before the proposal heads to the full Senate for debate.  CBS Colorado

HEALTH NEWS

  • Colorado insurance companies say that if a pending bill passes, health care premiums will rise by hundreds of dollars next year (adding pressure to policyholders statewide).  CBS Colorado

  • The CSU softball team lost 10-5 in the first game of a three-game series against Grand Canyon on April 30. Coach Jen Fisher said the team showed promise with key hits from Jailey Wilson and Abby Edwards and plans to build momentum in upcoming games.  Colorado State University
