Newest Scam
A scam is targeting rural Larimer and Weld County. Two men came to our house near Wellington claiming they worked on our lightning rods and said a section needed replacement. They gave my wife a $3,200 bill, then dropped it to $2,000 when she objected, presenting a card labeled Underwriter’s Laboratory. She wrote the check to UL, not the man, and we stopped payment the next day.
