A young woman was rescued from Horsetooth Reservoir on July 10 after a sudden wind gust separated her from her paddleboard and nearly drowned her; emergency responders from Poudre Fire Authority and Larimer County Rangers saved her near the Sunset Picnic Area.

Larimer County began mailing 2024 delinquent property tax notices this week for taxes due in 2025.

The treasurer warned that even payments made after July 10 may trigger a notice—interest has been accruing since spring on missed or partial payments, and a Tax Lien Sale is set for November 20.

Residents can choose from five dog-friendly trails in or near Fort Collins that offer hikes ranging from short loops to longer routes with water stops—some trails require a fee.

Owners must keep dogs leashed and remain alert for rattlesnakes.
