- ➤ A wildfire mitigation project has started near Cameron Pass in the Colorado State Forest to remove dead trees—using a helicopter and tethered logging—to protect Fort Collins and Walden's water supply. Temporary closures are in effect at parts of State Forest State Park and visitors are advised to check trail conditions during the work, which will continue until October with more logging planned in spring.
