On August 18, CSU Police reported a bear sighting on the main campus and near Eddy Hall and advised anyone near the area to steer clear while officials coordinated its safe removal.
Colorado State University research shows that fast-moving wildfires burn more intensely and leave fewer seed-trees for recovery, which may force parts of western forests to shift to shrubland or grassland.
Researchers recommend active forest management to help mitigate lasting ecological change.
