  • A Colorado rescue crew freed Sweetie the horse and her owner from deep mud in Fort Collins today—rescuers worked quickly to ensure both were safe.  CBS Colorado

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fort Collins police launched the Blue Envelope Program in July to improve communication with drivers who have communication-related disabilities by using a blue envelope to store registration, insurance, and disability information for traffic stops. Drivers can request an envelope at the Fort Collins Police Services building—2221 S. Timberline Road—and the program aims to help both drivers and officers understand each other better during stops.  The Coloradoan
  • Governor Polis signed two bills today that protect food access and health care for Colorado families as federal cuts threaten SNAP and Medicaid. The laws will keep healthy school meals and essential health services open in Larimer and Weld counties — helping children and adults get the support they need.  North Forty News
  • Colorado law allows drivers to park on the curb in front of a residence if no signs restrict it, but vehicles cannot park within 5 feet of driveways, on sidewalks, or within 15 feet of fire hydrants—Fort Collins uses 12 permit zones near Colorado State and downtown to manage residential parking.  The Coloradoan
