- ➤ Fort Collins will celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Farm at Lee Martinez Park with a free event on Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon that features live music, food trucks, barnyard games, line dancing, and visits with farm animals. - ➤ A paddleboarder fell from their board and went missing near Satanka Cove at Horsetooth Reservoir on Sept. 7 and is now believed dead as Poudre Fire Authority crews and other agencies used boats, drones, and sonar—and closed the area—while noting the victim had not worn the required life jacket. - ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife warns residents to secure trash, pet food, and bird feeders as black bears search for up to 20,000 calories daily during fall—raising the risk of bear encounters in neighborhoods. - ➤ Fort Collins voters will use ranked voting in the November 4 election for mayor and two City Council seats while 15 candidates run, with only the races having three or more candidates — the mayoral race and Districts 1 and 3 — using the new system. The Coloradoan
- ➤ The Associated Students of Colorado State University Senate met on Sept 3 for its third session of the 55th Senate—new interns were ratified and legislators approved bills to create and update an elections manager role following a 3.82% voter turnout last year.
