- ➤ William Bell, CEO of Sic970—an apparel company that uses clothing for social advocacy—has kept the business operating in Fort Collins for 13 years by promoting causes like antiracism and environmental care. - ➤ A tribute to late CSU professor Phil Risbeck opened at the Morgan Library on Sept. 22 to honor his more than 50-year teaching career and influential graphic design work in Fort Collins and beyond – the exhibit will be on display until Dec. 21. Colorado State University
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Colorado reported last fiscal year that sports betting generated over $36 million in tax revenue from more than $6.3 billion in wagers—$33 million of which will fund water conservation while $1.74 million will support casinos and local governments. - ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife said nearly half of more than 5,000 bear incidents statewide in 2024 happened in August, September and October, and Fort Collins residents can expect more bear sightings this fall—bears have been seen near backyards and trash bins. - ➤ On Tuesday, heavy rain and the season's first significant snowfall did not stop locals and tourists from enjoying outdoor activities in Colorado.
