COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Fort Collins Rescue Mission broke ground on its $23 million shelter for those experiencing homelessness in Northern Colorado — work on the facility is now underway.  CBS Colorado

CULTURE NEWS

  • KCSU FM and RamEvents hosted the fourth annual Battle of the Bands at Sutherland Community Garden on Sept. 25—four local student bands competed for a $300 prize and a FoCoMX performance slot, with groups like NoKay and Third Turn showcasing local talent.   • Colorado State University’s school of music, theatre and dance began its first production today with the play Men on Boats, which retells John Wesley Powell’s expedition down the Colorado River using an all non-male cast. The play will run at the University Center for the Arts until Oct. 5—showing at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 2-4 and a matinee at 2 p.m. on Oct. 5.  Colorado State University

  • Gray Willson—the sophomore goalkeeper who transferred from Miami—is boosting CSU soccer with an .829 save percentage so far and raising team competitiveness as the Rams push toward a conference title.  Colorado State University
  • The Rams released their 2025—26 meet schedule after preseason practices ended, with their season set to begin Oct. 3—4 at Denver and Air Force. Head coach Christopher Woodard, in his 15th season, welcomed back 15 athletes and added eight new swimmers and four divers to boost the team for upcoming competitions.  Colorado State University
