  • A 57-year-old hunter from Illinois — who was prepared with proper gear — became lost near Jack Dickens Trail on September 22, prompting a search by rescue teams from Jackson, Larimer, and Grand Counties amid a fierce snowstorm. He was found safe on September 24 — he credited his survival to staying calm and building a fire — and officials remind outdoor enthusiasts to prepare for rapidly changing winter conditions.  North Forty News

  • Fort Collins Utilities announced that nonsummer electricity peak hours will shift to 5-9 p.m. starting today, and the cost per kilowatt-hour will be more than three times higher than off-peak rates—customers can lower their bills by running major appliances during nonpeak times.  The Coloradoan
  • The city attorney's office is dismissing 477 speeding citations from a radar camera on West Prospect Road in Fort Collins that were misprinted — missing details such as the driver's name, vehicle, and violation — to clear up driver concerns. Drivers who have paid can email the municipal court for a refund — officials confirmed the error was corrected when the vendor resent the proper citations — while those with incomplete citations from Sept. 4—17 do not need to pay.  The Coloradoan
  • Fort Collins City Council candidate Zoelle Lane visited CSU on Thursday to speak at a Political Review forum and discussed labor rights, affordable housing, and environmental sustainability as she seeks to represent the area that covers CSU and southern Fort Collins.
