Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 11th of October.
Good morning, Fort Collins.
🎓 Education
On Oct 8, several CSU students protested changes to the free speech policy after a new rule limited chalking on campus and the university later rescinded the changes (ASCSU Director Ben Gregg resigned on Oct 10 over the policy).
Lawmakers then discussed legislation to require the school to be transparent about future changes as the senate prepared to meet again on Oct 15.
🏛️ Government
City officials announced asphalt patching repairs will cause a phased lane shift and restricted turning movements for drivers on northbound Taft Hill Road at Harmony Road on Oct.
13-14. Drivers should follow detour routes and adjust their travel during work hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—weather permitting.
🏈 Sports
Colorado State football played Fresno State last night as the Rams sought redemption after a season loss and adjusted their lineup amid injuries — the Bulldogs, riding a five-game win streak, challenged CSU with strong early scoring and defensive plays.
The team will build on this performance as it prepares for its next Mountain West game.
