ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Early Friday morning, a Fort Collins family's smoke alarms alerted them to a fire in an attached garage and pool house (4800 block of Kiva Drive), allowing everyone to escape safely although two cats died and a dog was injured. Poudre Fire Authority arrived at 3:11 a.m. and put out the blaze while an investigator began determining the cause.  North Forty News

CULTURE NEWS

  • On October 10, Fort Collins artists gathered at The Lincoln Center Gallery for the Art in Public Places anniversary exhibit—showcasing pieces that expressed community, environmental and social activism. The event featured works by Allie Ogg, Stephen Shachtman, Todd Kundla and Gregory Fields that connected local history with personal storytelling through art.  Colorado State University

  • Colorado State University granted six patents over the past year to faculty and researchers for innovations in agriculture, computing, and health—ranging from identifying herbicide-resistant genes to developing smart monitoring devices—and generated $3.58 million in licensing revenue in 2024.  Colorado State University

  • CSU soccer celebrated senior day in a 1-1 draw with Air Force Academy on October 12 when Michaela McGowan scored at 2:35 and the seniors were honored for their contributions—head coach Keeley Hagen said the strong start helped the team.
