  • On Oct 9, the Ohio‐based folk band Oliver Hazard played the second show of their Raindrop River Tour at Aggie Theatre while sharing the stage with bluegrass band The Last Revel, who had met them just one day earlier. The bands mixed a cozy house show style with an outdoor festival feel—exciting local fans and setting the stage for future tour dates.  Colorado State University

  • Five candidates are running for three school board seats in the November election—each supports equity, inclusion, and better educator support. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fort Collins announced that a two-block stretch of Shields Street—from Mountain Avenue to Akin Avenue—will be closed to southbound traffic from Oct. 20 to Dec. 10 for utility work on the Oak Street Stormwater Improvements Project. Southbound vehicles must detour via Laporte Avenue to either College Avenue or Taft Hill Road while the northbound lane stays open.  The Coloradoan
  • CSUPD is introducing its Blue Envelope Program to help people with disabilities share key details during routine traffic stops. The program, planned since last April in close collaboration with Fort Collins Police, has already seen high demand — officers are reordering envelopes to meet growing need.  Colorado State University
  • Colorado's traction and chain laws require passenger vehicles on I-70 and heavy commercial vehicles to carry chains or approved devices from Sept. 1 until May 31 to ensure safe winter travel on mountain roads.   • Fort Collins voters will decide this November how to use the 165-acre former Hughes Stadium site, which is larger than any city park including the 123-acre Spring Canyon Park.
