Ursa Major, a local aerospace firm that designs rocket engines for the military, announced it is expanding its operations by building a 400-acre rocket testing site near Briggsdale in Weld County.

The company will use the site to test large rocket motors for military and private use and plans to hire more locals from nearby universities (including CSU and CU).

Temple Grandin, a respected professor at CSU known for improving livestock conditions and advocating for autism, will soon be honored with an oil painting by David Lenz in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery—part of the Portrait of a Nation award.

The portrait will be on display from Nov. 14 to Oct. 25.

Fossil Ridge High School's marching band won its fourth straight state title on October 25th as it earned top marks in music, visual and overall performance at the competition held near the U.S. Air Force Academy — its eighth title in 14 years.

The band outscored its competitors to secure the Class 5A win.
