CULTURE NEWS

  • The 41st Annual AISES powwow at CSU happened on Nov. 1—bringing community members together to celebrate Native American traditions with prayer, dancing, and vendors. A student research showcase and cultural displays marked the start of National Native American Heritage Month—showing that indigenous heritage remains a vital part of our community.  Colorado State University

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Oct. 29, ASCSU held its 11th Senate session where student leaders approved a pilot program with $37,000 for emergency housing and $6,500 to support the Autism Research Fair at the Museum of Discovery+They also updated funding rules and sent a bill to amend the elections code for review, with the Senate set to resume Nov. 5.  Colorado State University
  • On Oct. 30, Colorado State University hosted professor Anna Tsing from the University of California, Santa Cruz to discuss how human actions and natural environments shape each other. Students and faculty later asked questions about responsible infrastructure planning (at the Lory Student Center).  Colorado State University

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Butterfly Pavilion and CSU launched an exhibit called 'Beyond the Hive: Discovering Colorado’s Bees' on Sept. 12 that displays over 1,000 native bee species using videos, live bees and interactive quizzes—tools that also share research on pollination and conservation. The exhibit aims to teach visitors how protecting native bees can help sustain Colorado’s natural environment.  Colorado State University
