  • 3Hopeful Hearts will host its annual 'Be The Light' Gala on November 8 at Windsong Estate Event Center, 2901 Saddler Boulevard in Severance from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will raise funds for programs that support families who have lost a child—attendees will enjoy gourmet dining and both silent and live auctions.  North Forty News
  • CSU's RISE HAI lab, led by Associate Professor Shelby McDonald, studies how animal bonds help improve mental health and guide pet-friendly housing policies.   • The Museum of Art Fort Collins is showing Indigenous Voices: A Contemporary Art Exhibition that features works from living Native artists including pieces by curator Gregg Deal and emerging painter Sage Deal.   • Colorado State University professor Matthew Cooperman spoke on Nov. 3 about his new poetry collection and how his Guggenheim Fellowship will support his next project—he will read his work at the Lory Student Center tomorrow as part of a fundraising event for the Larimer County Food Bank.   • Larimer County deputies rescued a bear found trapped in a car overnight in the foothills using pepperball devices—while the vehicle sustained damage, no one was hurt.  North Forty News
  • Visitors at Soapstone Prairie Natural Area saw bison from the Laramie Foothills Bison Conservation Herd mark their 10-year reintroduction as of Nov. 1.   • Food Bank for Larimer County is urging lawmakers to end the shutdown as 34,000 residents who rely on SNAP face growing food insecurity—new sign-ups at its Fresh Food Share No-Cost Markets have tripled from 150 to 478 in one month. The bank has offered up to $5,000 in emergency food purchase grants to local partners while programs like CSU’s Basic Needs continue serving students and families in need.  North Forty News

  • Colorado State women’s basketball beat Weber State 75 to 58 on Nov. 4 after transfer players helped hold a lead almost the whole game—Lexus Bargesser led with 22 points.
