CULTURE NEWS

  • CSU Fall Dance Concert was held Nov. 14–15 at University Center for the Arts with all three performances selling out and presenting eight distinct works developed by student choreographers with mentorship from faculty. The event showcased cross-disciplinary collaboration and community connection as performers and design teams worked closely under director Judy Bejarano — inspiring creative engagement and local pride.  Colorado State University

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flags remain at half-staff in Colorado to honor former Vice President Dick Cheney after his death on November 3, with Governor Jared Polis ordering the display on November 4. The flags will stay lowered until sunset on the day of his interment—officials have not set a burial date even though his funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET on November 20 at Washington National Cathedral.  The Coloradoan
  • Mountain residents gathered on November 16 at Station 1 at Glacier View Meadows Gate 8 to celebrate the new fire engine and tender from the Glacier View Fire Protection District—an update made possible by a 2018 mill levy that replaces over 30-year-old trucks and boosts fire response and wildfire readiness.  North Forty News

  • Ali Farokhmanesh became Colorado State men’s basketball head coach on March 26 and is keeping the team’s play steady as he learns the new role. He said the players are taking on new challenges while he builds a strong bond with them—an approach he learned from his former coach.  Colorado State University
  • CSU volleyball player Riley Simpson returned to the court after health issues and helped the team by blocking the ball six times in her game against Air Force on Oct. 16—her coach praised her hard work and leadership.
