  • The Twisted Stitch is a cozy craft shop in Old Town at 222 Walnut St that opened on May 1 and has offered crafting supplies, beginner classes, and free gatherings for all skill levels for over six months.   • Lindsey Schneider, an Indigenous scholar and associate professor at CSU, strengthens support for Native students in Fort Collins by creating programs like ISTAR and mentoring them through cultural and academic challenges—her work builds safe spaces where youth can thrive.   • Colorado State University has begun installing 12 digital billboards on campus even though Fort Collins bans such signs — the university says the digital displays improve emergency alerts while some students worry about energy use and light pollution.   • On Nov 19, Colorado State University hosted its annual seminar where Professor Andrew Seidl explained that conservation easements helped conserve over 2.3 million acres and returned up to $74 billion in benefits for Colorado taxpayers—delivering a $37 to $64 return for every invested dollar. His research showed that these tax incentives not only support landowners but also protect scenic views, wildlife habitats, and rural economies.  Colorado State University
