Good morning, Fort Collins.
FoCo Cafe — a nonprofit restaurant in downtown that offers meals in exchange for donations or chores — has been serving community members with locally sourced food since 2014.
The cafe raised nearly $60,000 of its $100,000 goal as of Sept. 3 and relies on volunteers to help meet daily needs for those facing financial hardship.
On Sept. 11, community members and first responders gathered at Canvas Stadium for the Northern Colorado 9/11 Memorial and Stair Climb to honor lives lost by walking four laps—equaling 2,071 steps and 110 stories climbed by World Trade Center responders.
A UCHealth helicopter and an Army Black Hawk chopper flew low over the stadium as local officials observed the tribute, and the event will return in 2026.
The Associated Students of Colorado State University senate met on September 10th and ratified new executive interns while removing a resolution opposing hate from the session agenda—moves that paved the way for legislative updates and set up committee reviews before reconvening on September 17th. The session also addressed amendments to the senate constitution to correct past inconsistencies.
CSU women's tennis opened its fall tournament on Friday at the CSU Tennis Complex in Fort Collins with fresh players like Voeks and Lizarazo facing early nerves in doubles and Tozin winning a tight tiebreak in singles while transfer Planinsek fought through a close match.
